What the fuck is up w/ the seats on the spin cycles?

I took my first spin cycle class tonight.  Wow, it really kicked my ass, but for realz....really kicked my crotch!  WTH?  Why?  Makes no sense to me.  Did some asshole invent it, while trying to make sure women never get pregnant again?  I swear that does some damage.  They need to stick a Huffy seat seat on those MOFO's.  That being said...I'm going back again.  I felt a great deal of accomplishment after we finished (my friend Lisa went with me).  The instructor says the crotch thing gets easier as it goes on.  We shall see....

Today has been a good day.  I got a ton of cleaning done.  It felt really good.  After school, Cal and I went over to visit w/ his buddy, Louie, and me to visit his mom, Amanda.  She's good people.  Then, it was off to spin, and then shopping at Wal-Mart.  For living out here in BFE, that's a full day :)

My dang period still hasn't arrived.  Although, I must confess if I start bleeding tonight, I won't be convinced it was from the spin cycle.  I continue to eat, and eat, and eat.  I'm eating fairly smart, though, so I'm not going to beat myself up over it.

8:00  Smoothie (1/2 apple, ground flaxseed, kale, and frozen strawberries)
11:30  Small baked potato (w/ a little Earth Balance, cheese, and sour cream....), Salad (spinach, spring mix, w/ honey mustard dressing)
Caffeine Free Diet Coke
1:30  1/2 apple w/ a little peanut butter
2:30  Bowl of Rice Chex w/ a little sugar, soy milk, and a banana
4:30  Caffeine Free Diet Coke
7:15  Thomas whole wheat English muffin w/ 1/2 avocodo, tomato, and some Grapeseed Vegenaise, Bowl of Cauliflower soup (see recipe), and another English muffin w/ Earth Balance

hi Jen! Yay that you are feeling better!!!! I spin twice a week usually (although I do not yet own a bike..ha) and I hurt the same when I started so I bought a cushioned bike seat cover at Walmart and used to take it to and from class. Because of pushing out 2 babies, I "leak" when jumping around in aerobics and have found that Poise Pads have a dual use of cushioning the crotch for spin. :-). TMI right? LOL. You would be proud of me...I am making a big change to my diet and starting to eat a Paleo diet...it's not vegetarian but I'm learning cool veg recipes to try...low carb, no grains, very little to no dairy..just veggies, fruit, and meat. I like Marksdailyapple.com. I am suffering from a hormonal change...early 40s hormonal change...my body wants to have a belly no matter that I eat fairly well and average 5 workouts a week. I am about to not fit my pants, so it's nearly a crisis. :-) so I am with you on making changes to my diet. I am rooting for us. We can do it. I have 10-15 to lose and Rob is up 30 since he started working nights and has less time to exercise. This is the year!!!!

Hey Le Ann, nice to hear from you! I love your Poise Pads suggestion. I could grab a couple of benefits from those :) Those damn hormones...how are they getting to us already? Shouldn't we be too young for this shit?
I have no doubt you'll make that paleo diet work, and get what you want out of your workouts. You know I think you're Super Woman!

Have a great day,

Jen
