What are you doing to make yourself feel better today?

I'd love to hear from you guys.  What are you doing for yourself to make yourself feel healthier and happier today?  Please comment below.

I didn't sleep for shit last night.... So, I'm not sure where the crazy amount of energy is coming from this morning.  I got up at 9 and made the boys breakfast (english muffin w/ egg and cheese, banana).  I then made myself a smoothie.  It was then time to clean the kitchen and then start a load of laundry.  Took Junior for his walk, and then went outside to p/u dog poop.  From there, I decided to pick up branches, etc (this property we are renting is very large w/ lots of trees.)  I just came inside to do this, and then I'm giving Junior a bath.  I feel good!
It's coming up on 5:00 and the energy level is subsiding.  I'm about to make dinner.  I should've eaten something before now...  Lesson learned.

Food
9:30  Chocolate smoothie (see recipe)
12:00  Some raw almonds
1:00  2 wheat Ritz w/ peanut butter
2:00  homemade Tomato Bisque (will add recipe tonight)
5:00  Bisquick biscuit  (so bad...but I love these dang things.  made w/ soy milk)
6:00  Baby red potato mashed potatoes (made w/ soy milk and Earth Balance margarine, also put 2 bay leaves in while boiling the potatoes-removed before mashing), vegan brown gravy (very, very good, but super bad for you), spring mix salad w/ lite honey mustard dressing, yellow squash, and a Bisquick biscuit.  I'm sooooo full.

Exercise
10:00  Took Junior for a 1 mile walk
11:00  A little yard work
8:00  Took Junior for a 1 mile walk

Glad you're feeling productive! I also slept like crap last night and at some point had 3 of 4 kids in bed w/us (which never happens - I was just too tired to put them back in bed!. I'm not getting very far in acting upon a better exercise / eating plan. So far I've only cut out my late night beer and popcorn snack, which I miss! As far as exercise goes, @ 1:00 am last night I looked up the exercise schedule at the club we belong to... YES! I know, we already belong to an exercise club and I never go, I suck. I think I found a weight class that I might attempt to try once the kids are in school. We'll see, I'm not too enthused about it but I'm feeling miserable and not sleeping so I've got to do something, right? Thanks again for the blog idea Jen. It helps me AND I feel like I'm getting more time with a great friend. Take care mama.

It must be going around....i didn't sleep either. I'm finding if I take my walks in the morning it helps the day go better. I'm not sure why that is. Now the hard part is rolling my ass out of bed @ 4:15 to do it. lol. I love how quiet things are at that time and the weather has been amazing lately. Oh, and the music on the ipod kicks buttowski:-)

I am preparing for the Warrior Dash September 11th so I am doing the C25K app on my droid. I am on week 6 exercise 1. I was planning on doing that Tues/Thurs/Saturday, although a friend requested I go to spin with her. I was going to do weight Mon/Wed/Fri. I know that muscles help burn more calories. I am more accountable if I write down my exercise plans and even more so when I share them with somebody.

To make myself feel better today: rolled over at 5:00 a.m. for more sleep (I worked out yesterday a.m. and will do it tomorrow), ate my fruits and veggies (always easy to eat clean at work...pack my mini fridge in the office with healthy homemade lunches and snacks for the week every Monday...snacking at home is the challenge...won't be there until about 8:30 tonight due to kids' sports); focused only on the work & home punch list for the day...tried not to get stressed out by looking at the tasks for the entire week...one day at a time...breathe, repeat:-) ; lastly I will sit in the sunshine and watch Adam's soccer game...trying to comit the moments to memory. Nothing at home can be "good for me" today...just chores and staying up too late for my 5:00 a.m. alarm. Hopefully there's some trashy reality show on...makes chores more bearable. Hang in Jen. Glad today was good!

Everyone, thanks so much for giving me some inspiration. I know each of you well, and I know how full and busy your lives are. Good for you for taking the time to take care of yourself today.

Hopefully we'll find the key to getting a good nights sleep sometime soon :)

You won't believe what I made last night. A friend from work brought me this zucchini she grew in her garden and the thing was 15 inches long and I didn't even measure the girth (hahahaha). Anyway, I cut it into thin slices long ways and made a lasagna with the slices in place of the noodles. I didn't tell Alex (my boy) and he said it rocked!!!
