No Sleep 'til Brooklyn

10/27/2011

If only that were true, I'd head to Brooklyn right now.  Damn, I'm tired.  I have an interview today, too.  I need to make myself more alert.  I haven't had any caffeine/soda since Mon.  I guess I picked the wrong week to give it up :)

The interview went really well.  It was a full 2 hours.   It's always a good sign when they talk salary at the end of it.  They will be down to two candidates next week, so I'm hoping I"ll be one of them.  It's so weird, interviewing somewhere after being at my previous job for 10 1/2 years.

I haven't been very hungry today.  I've kinda just grabbed a thing here or there.  So, kids, be forewarned:  this is no way to eat : )

Food:
8:00  Slice of whole wheat toast w/ Earth Balance, glass of Pelegrino
10:30  Smoothie (water, spinach, banana, blueberries, strawberries)
2:30  1/2 fish sandwich from Hardee's w/ Large Diet Coke
6:40  3 Rhodes rolls

Exercise:
Not much time today...took Junior for his 1/3 mile walk

Okay girl!!! I had very little sleep too. I woke up from a dream that seemed so real and I was actually crying when I woke. It's amazing what the fear of losing people in your life can do even in your head.

BUT I started working with a trainer again yesterday and I hope it's the start of something good. When I make myself accountable for the workout (like by using a trainer) I am more likely to do the work and not slack becauase I have my own elliptical @ home and can always do it later. lol

Also, as I keep doing it I'm hoping it helps in the eating area. PMS this week is not helping a single solitary craving, but whatever. I'm going to do the best I can. Oh ya, and today we have a visitor coming to our office and we're ordering lunch in for her visit. Where does everyone want to order from....BURGER QUEEN!! They have the best yummies, but certainly not on my eating plan. I'm doing it anyway. hahahaha.

Salad tonight I'm thinking.

Try to get a nap in and I'm hoping your interview goes great!!!

Yay Ash! Love that you're working out w/ a trainer! Keep me posted on how it makes you feel.
Sorry about your dream. I have some doozies, too. Hate it. The downfall of being a parent, is the worry is there every second of every day.
Hope you did alright w/ the Booger Queen.

Love ya! Jen

Hey you!
Congrats on the interview. These days just the interview is a major step forward. :) Two hours is a GREAT sign, let alone the salary discussion so it's sounding good. I also had a terrible eating day. No breakfast, cup-a-soup for lunch and a ginormous helping of mash potatoes with my roast beast for dinner. Of course I pigged because I was starving by 6:00. Also am partaking in some vino which isn't great for the calorie count. Part because of the wine, part because after a glass or two I start on chocolate! Someday I'll be better. Good luck w/the interview, keep us posted!
hugs.

good luck with the potential job. I leave myself room to be wrong on this, but I think you as a stay at home mom gives you too much time for your mind to dwell on things and be critical of yourself. Maybe it was the same when you were working outside of the house ( and inside) but I did not catch on to it being to this extent. I know full well how crazy the schedule is when you work outside the home full time, parent two kids, manage a household, workout, serve on boards and committees, and try to have some energy left over to keep romance in the marriage. It is friggin crazy chaotic and exhausting. But there is too little time to dwell...your mind can't wander in the same way as when you're cleaning house or driving to pick up kids. Bonus: you can bring your lunch to work and avoid free access to the home fridge and cupboards....you can control food easier. That is my theory and experience anyway. I hope this job or some other one comes thru for you. Not to forget to mention that the feminist in me says always work at least part time...don't let your skills lapse or become stale...always be able to stand financially on your own two feet. Love ya.
