much inspiration. He’s working out w/ a trainer and had cut back to nearly no alcohol in his life. So cool. He looks so much younger. It’s amazing how quickly our bodies can respond once we make being healthy the biggest priority in our lives. I’m so proud of him. Oh, and a supplier came by and gave me
4 tix to the Cubs game on Sat. It’s an afternoon game, which are my absolute favorite. Also, they are playing the Dodgers, which is Cal’s favorite sports
team. Don’t ask me why? He’s just loved them since he was
really little. So, it works out great. Cal would normally not want to go to a baseball game, but since it’s the Dodgers, he’s super stoked. Although, he’s so funny because he’s all about getting home before it gets too late. “What if it’s a tie, 0-0, or 1-1, and they have to go into extra innings,” and on and on (insert any reason a game may go late). Haha. I’d love to be inside his brain, just for a day. He’s got a way of thinking that’s so different than most of
us.
The weather was super freaky yesterday, and there was a ton of lightning. Brian got off work early, due to the weather and went into town to buy stuff to make tacos for dinner. He cooked and everything. It was great. The boys were so excited to be eating “real meat.” Although, I suspect, it’s only because Brian told them that’s what it was and made a big deal about it. Tacos are always their favorite, Morning Star farms, or what have you. The weather had really settled down later in the day, so after dinner Brian and I went on a 2 mile walk, or so together. First, we did take Junior out, though. I still love walking him. Speaking of Junior, tomorrow he turns 13. Un-f’ing believable. I’ll tell you that
boy has more lives than any cat I’ve ever heard of. The walk with Brian was fantastic. It’s so nice when we actually get time for just us. It’s amazing how easy a relationship can be, when you take all of the everyday stresses out of the equation. I’m so happy to say, that there’s nobody I’d rather spend my time like
that with. Next year, we’ll have been together 20 years. Am I really that old? For us, time has really been our friend. Through the ups and big downs….I find myself happiest with him, in this moment. Of course, he’s not perfect, as
neither am I. But with age, I guess we learn how to deal with things better.
Some days better than others, of course. Today, the weather is absolutely
gorgeous. I’m really hoping we can take a walk again tonight. The
only thing that sucks, is that I have to wear my glasses. I don’t have prescription sunglasses, and in anticipation of the Lasik, I can’t wear contacts. I hope everything turns out okay at my appt. next week. I want this surgery so freaking bad!
Hopefully, I’ll be able to add more to this tonight. Oh, and thanks Tammi for the nice words about the blog this morning. It makes my day when I hear things like that.
