Day III

Yippee!  Cal's feeling better today.  It was so nice to see him eat and drink this morning (and keep everything in).  It's so funny.  He's been hanging on me for a week, as he hasn't felt well.  At the first sign of wellness, he dumps me for the Wii and t.v.  LOL.  That's an 8 y/o for you.  I've got all the bedding, etc. all changed out in all of the rooms.  I know tonight, he'll try to see if he can sleep w/ me, but it's not going to happen.  I'm going to be strong :)  Haven't slept w/ my hubby all this week, and that ends tonight.

Today was really a pretty good day overall.  It was great that Cal was feeling good.  It enabled me to get a lot done.  I also took some time for myself, and talked to a couple of ppl on the phone.  I'm not always a phone person, but it was really nice today.  Had some great conversations.    Man, I miss being around friends....

So, I've realized I haven't had a drink of alcohol in a month.  I used to do that all the time, sometimes longer, and then go out w/ friends and break the drought that I wasn't even aware of.  Before this last year or so, I never drank at home.  This extra drinking has been directly related to the anxiety I'd developed, along w/ how bad the depression got.  I guess once that got under control, I just haven't felt the need to drink.  Of course, now I have to also worry about the empty calories.  This being said, I might actually go out tomorrow night.  There's a band in town and everything.  And it's not WRG style, it's not the "one man band."  There's also a "fish fry" which I'd planned on indulging in, before going on the ETL program.  Here's hoping to a night out of the house!

The diet has been going pretty good.  I'm still having some cravings, mostly chocolate related, and soda related.  Soda really isn't part of the program, but I'm giving myself a little time to wean myself off of it.  I've had a soda 2 of the 3 days.  Hopefully I'll be leaving this crap behind me soon.

Hope you guys are doing awesome!  Have a wonderful weekend.

~Jen

Food:
8:30  Smoothie (Creamy Fruit and Berry Smoothie)  See recipe
12:30  Spinach & Vegetable Soup (from the Vitamix recipes)  In a nutshell: veggie broth, garlic, onion, steamed carrots, broccoli, zucchini, yellow squash, and fresh spinach, w/ chick peas.  I won't put the recipe on here, as I didn't think it was that great.  (I also altered it, removing the potato and chicken broth).  It's super healthy, though.  If you want it, let me know and I'll message it to you.
2:00  Large apple, ate 1/2 with chocolate almond dip (see recipe)
4:00  Green Tea
6:15  Baked potato, steamed broccoli, carrot, and bean soup
7:45  Caffeine Free Diet Coke

Exercise:
40 mins. Biggest Loser workout on the Wii
1/2 hour of shoveling the driveway
