Day 47 Sun.

Yay!  I found a kale recipe that I actually love (well, to be truthful Amy told me about it).  I'll add it to the recipes on the sidebar.  I don't mind kale, but it's not my favorite.  I usually really like it in soups or something, where the taste isn't strong, but this is a perfect combination of flavors.  I can see myself eating this once a week (and then shitting the rest of the week, haha).

I was pretty beat this morning and once again, tried to talk myself out of going to church.  I don't know why I do that.  Once I'm there, I love being in church.  I love the messages.  I love the lessons that I learn.  And most of all, I love that Caleb wanted to come with me today.  Cal's definitely the singer in this family.  So, I'm awfully glad to have him there besides me :)  When I first started attending this church, I was astonished at how well this congregation sings.  It's like the whole congregation is a choir.  So, of course, I sing very, very quietly.  Plus, I can't read music for shit.  So, when I'm off, I certainly don't want to be heard.  When Cal's there, I just put my fingers under the words, and when he sees those that he knows he just belts it out.  It's too cute.  I love that he asks questions about God and Jesus, too.  He'll be a better believer than I am...that's for sure.  Oh, speaking of which, I finished The Shack, the same day I started.  It's a super easy read, but it was difficult for me to read in several areas.  There are some things that I can't ever deal with, and this book is hinged upon one of those things.  It was eye opening, too, though.  It's made me think about the way I sometimes get angry with God.  In essence, how I judge him.  I just don't understand pain and suffering in this world, and when it happens, I'm quick to get angry with him.  I have a lot of issues with my relationship with God.  I believe wholeheartedly, but I know I could serve him much, much better than I do.

Brian was on-call again this weekend, and he had to leave for work at 6:15 this morning.  He just got home and it's nearly 9.  What a long week for him.  I cooked a big (meat filled dinner) for him, so he's happy at the moment.  Plus, I made some Monkey Bread.  My mom used to make it, and I hadn't had it since then.  The kids went bananas (pun intended) for it.  I tried a small amount, and it's as good as I remember.  Yum!

Today has been a really nice day.  I've gotten a lot done around the house.  I've spent some good, quality time with the boys, and I pretty much have the laundry caught up and put away.  I can't ask for too much more than that (other than for Brian to be home).  Oh, I've also been playing that Words with Friends again.  After just a few days, I'm fully addicted.  I don't know all the rules, though, so I need to get that figured out quick.  Getting my ass kicked is getting old fast.

I hope you guys had a great weekend!
