I woke up feeling really good today (damn early, though...kids...). I was super afraid my mood would go away, so I instantly went into attack mode. After I made my smoothie, I started reading a book (The Shack). Reading is my favorite thing to do, make that second, oh, wait...some of you know that's a lie, too...okay my 3rd fave thing to do. I haven't been doing it recently, even though I've had the time. Yet another symptom of my condition lately. I gave myself a time limit, since I had things to do. I was thoroughly engrossed in the book, but the time came for me to put it down and get on the treadmill. Yay me! I would've never done that in the past. I'd read through damn near anything. Well, except the other 2 things. Although I do have a friend whose wife made him actually quiz her w/ flash cards, in order to study for a test, while doing his favorite thing (you can do the mental pic of how that happened). Needless to say, that was near the end of their marriage. True story. After the treadmill, I got Junior out for a walk. I then got in a quick shower and shaved my legs (maybe my 4th fave thing to do), and headed out to a Dr.'s apt. I had a follow up mammogram today, along w/ an ultrasound. I got freaked out, when I saw the images of the first pictures, and I pointed to what I knew what they were looking at, which they confirmed. A little panic set in. I even text Amy from the room. Then after the new pics were taken and consultation w/ the radiologist was done, it was determined that I did not need the ultrasound. It was just a lymph node, and it hardly showed up this time. I went from total freakout to total exhilaration in mere minutes. Now, I'm not saying it wasn't cancer. I mean I have done ETL for 6 weeks. Maybe it shrunk it. lol I'm being silly. I'm a believer, but not that naive.
Oh, when I left for my appt., it was raining, as I got closer, it started to hail. Too weird. When I came out of my appt, it was full on snowing sideways. The streets were covered! My traction control kept having to come on, and of course by the time I got home the mofo traction control and ABS were blinking need service... Yes, and I also saw lighting in the midst of the snow storm. Ah, if only Jody were here, it would've made for perfect hot tub weather, lol. Crazy
Anyway, I've mostly been reading today. Oh, and playing "Words with Friends" on my phone w/ my friend. OMG. I love it. I think I'm totally addicted. Even a dummy like me can play. Good times! I did manage to break away from all of the laziness to make a really good, simple veggie chili for dinner. I think I'll post the recipe. I know I've made it before. It's just been a while.
All in all, it's been a really good day. Plus, I've been promised some of my favorite thing later tonight. haha. Yes, you know I have the mind of a 15 yo boy. And I love it. I can't imagine not being me. (Well, without the on/off depression, anyway :)
Hope you guys have a fabulous weekend!
