Some good, some bad.

Going into today, I knew I was going to have my work cut out for me.  I was in a meeting nearly all day.  They brought in breakfast and lunch.  I knew going into it, there wasn't going to be much as far as smart choices.  I didn't do as bad as I normally would, but I probably should've brought my own lunch.  And let me tell you, I cannot sit still for long periods of time like that.  My knees were bouncing all over the place.  I was doing it so much that I caught the guys on both sides of me doing it, too.

After work, we had plans to go out and celebrate with our 2 interns for their last day.  Let me tell you something.  Those kids are sharp.  It's crazy to be around such smart ppl like that.  Actually, there's a lot of really bright ppl where I work.  Since we had this planned ahead of time, Brian planned on making sure he was getting off work on time tonight.  I was so bummed when he called to say he had to work late.  I needed to get home for the kids.  I was able to go out for an hour and had a great time.  Of all things, ppl out here in IL are really into playing "bags."  I'd never even heard of it before coming out here.  There's a board, with one hole in it, and you try to throw the bags in the hole or get them to stay on the board.  I guess you could liken it to horseshoes.  Oh man, did I make fun of ppl for calling that a sport.  Too funny.  But they do take it really seriously and there are tournaments all over the place.  So, I played for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and totally kicked ass.  It was awesome.  Now I like bags.  haha.  So, when we were out tonight, one of the guys was demanding a rematch.  We were able to get 2 games in before I had to take off.  Well, I now have a total of 4 games of bags under my belt, and I'm 4-0.  I think I've won them all by double digits, too (first to 21).  The guys swear that I'm a "natural athlete," which really makes me laugh.  It's BAGS.  lol  But of course it's my new fave game :)  I was really hoping it would've worked out so I could stay longer.  The co. was paying for the night out.  But I guess it's good luck that I didn't.  I would've drank too much, and surely would've eaten some crappy bar food.

Once I did get home, I just laid out on the couch for a while.  I've been so damn tired all freaking week.  My sleep has been way screwed up.  I hope I can just crash tonight, but of course, it's already past when I should be asleep.  I have to stick to a schedule all the way around next week.  It's hard to function with this type of fatigue.  For dinner I just made myself a bowl of Raisin Bran w/ rice milk.  I then found myself snacking on 2 little hard cookies.  Ugh.  I was so tired I even talked myself out of walking tonight.  I was telling myself that it was too late.  The past two nights I've ended up walking in the pitch black.  But Brian and Ryne did get home at 8, and had a pizza.  I stupidly took a small piece of cheese pizza.  It was so greasy.  I immediately regreted it.  I got disgusted with myself and got my ass out and walked.  I made really good time.  I walked my normal hour, but I got 7 turns around the park, instead of 6 tonight.  I feel really good about that.  I also did about 45 mins worth of cleaning when I got home from the walk.  Hopefully I helped to undo some of my poor choices of the day.  But even with what the day ended up being, I'll take it.  I think of how far I've come in a week and a half, and I'm pretty damn happy with it.  I've cut way down on the soda, no fast food, really stepped away from the sugar, etc.  I'll take it one day at a time, while keeping the eye of the prize: good mental and physical health.  Plus, it would be awesome to have a rocking body :)

Hope you're all well!
