Week 6 Weigh-in

After a four-day  party weekend and a dinner out last night, I was expecting the worst for my final 6-week weigh-in. I knew I would gain, and I did, but just 1.2 lb. So...weight-wise, I'm back to where I was two weeks ago. In fact, I'm just .4 lb above where I was after the first two weeks! But I feel great and I have learned a lot about my body over these past 42 days. I'm still six pounds away from my original goal. I'm ashamed that I don't have an amazing story of weight-loss to add to Jen's blog; but hey, sometimes things like vacations and birthday parties cause us to fall slightly-off-track...and that's okay. It means we are human. After all, we are "eating to live", and we gotta live it up once in a while! :)

Over the next six weeks I plan to up the intensity/frequency of my workouts. I'm getting in better  physical shape and I want to be RIPPED come summertime!! I also plan to cut WAY back on the beer, and cut out caffeinated coffee completely. FACT: this daily blog was the only thing that kept me from cheating at times!

I know that today is not the end of anything-- it's just the start of the next six weeks.

Day 42...Final Day

5:30am... a smoothie with a banana, handful of strawberries and a scoop of Vega One; cup of coffee with Silk creamer
6:45am... 12oz. of Vega Workout Recover Accelerator
10am...two caramel chocolates and 1/4 of a chocolate donut, WTF?
11am... a cup of McDougall's curry rice pilaf
3:45pm... another chocolate (a truffle this time) DAMMIT JEN YOU DID THIS
5pm and beyond (I was at a dinner for work)...three beers, three pieces of calamari, two tiny rolls and a slice of pumpernickel, a salad with Italian dressing and blue cheese crumbles, and some sauteed vegetables with a portobella mushroom cap

Exercise...
5:45am: an hour of mostly weights (legs & back), with a tiny bit of abs and karate

Day 41...snap back to reality

5am... a smoothie with a banana, a handful of strawberries, scoop of Vega One; and a cup of coffee with Silk creamer
12pm... a square of dark chocolate
1:15pm... a sandwich on rye bread with spinach, sprouts, tomatoes, cucumbers, banana peppers, avocado, black olives, and a few jalapenos...with honey mustard sauce
5:30pm... a Bobo's Oat Bar and a couple handfuls of cashews
8pm... an Amy's veggie burger pattie

Day 38

9am...a soy latte with half the flavoring (vanilla)
9:30am...two packets of instand oatmeal (one brown sugar & cinnamon, one plain); and a banana
2pm...a bowl of Annie Chun's miso noodle soup

After this the shit hit the fan... I don't have complete recollection for some reason, but I think I amazingly remember most of what I put down my pie hole. The way I remember it, at about 4pm I started drinking beers nonstop along with two shots thrown in there for good measure and at about 6pm I had three bites of hummus with pita bread... I had two bites of chocolate cake and there is a chance that I ate a handful of french fries, but I'm not committing to that...then I know for a fact that I inhaled a 7-layer burrito at about 1am give-or-take.lol

Exercise...
about 25 mins of  a Tony Horton cardio workout

Day 37 - Traveling to WA for Jen's Birthday

4:30am...cup of coffee with Silk creamer
8am...an apple
10am...a banana and 1 oz of almonds
1pm...3/4 of an order of tofu Massaman curry with brown rice (from Thai Little Home restaurant)
5:30pm...a spicy bean burger from Burgerville (no cheese, but it did have chipotle sauce on it)
6pm...an Alaskan White beer
7pm...a giant Mirror Pond beer...a Coors Light and about five pretzels...a pint of Drop Top...then about 1/6 of Jen's bean & cheese burrito at around midnight.

5am... smoothie with blueberries and a scoop of Vega One
7:30am... soy latte with half the flavoring (vanilla)
9am and beyond... about 40 oz of vegetable juice made with four heads of romaine, two English cucumbers, a head of kale, two lemons, an apple, a pear and a hunk of ginger
11:30am... Indian Buffet: tiny salad with lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers with balsamic dressing; a tiny bit of that creamed spinach stuff (can't remember the name of it); and some basmati rice with vegetable curry...then a square of dark chocolate
3:30pm... a little chocolate chip cookie and a half-cup of coffee
8:30pm...a Gourmet On The Go (whole grains with beans)

Day 35... Jen's Birthday

I was so surprised when I got on the scale this morning and saw that I was down 2.2 lb since last Wed. I was actually expecting to gain again because I feel like I could have done so much better. It's a mystery, but I'll take it! So my grand total through 34 days is 6.4 lb. (still 3.8 lb. from my original goal)

5am... smoothie with strawberries  and a scoop of Vega One Nutritional shake (the company slightly changed the formula and the name); and a cup of coffee with Silk creamer
6:45am... 12oz of Vega Exercise Recovery Accelerator
9:30am...four bites of a blueberry scone
10:30am... an apple and half of a cutie
12:45pm... plate of leftover mung beans and sweet brown rice with tons of hot sauce and my mouth is on fire and my eyes are sweating; and a salad with romaine, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, sunflower seeds, Craisins and Annie's Lite Gingerly dressing
3pm... a LARABAR, then a square of dark chocolate
5:30pm... most of a veggie burrito from Chipotle


Exercise...
5:30am:
15 mins - rowing machine
15 mins - treadmill (1.93 miles, 200 calories...ALMOST got 2 miles in 15 mins)
30 mins of weight training (shoulders, bis & tris)

3:30pm... 1/2 oz. of almonds
7:30pm... a salad with romaine, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, sunflower seeds, craisins with Annie's Lite Honey Mustard dressing; some mung beans and sweet brown rice with Indian seasonings (Clean Food cookbook) and hot sauce

Exercise...
5:30: 45-min whole body group session that kicked ASS. Great workout.

Day 33

I felt "hungry" all day and I ate too much again. I think it's because I'm nervous. I'm about to make a pretty big change in my life, and it's going to happen this week. (My blog is just for diet and exercise, so I won't get into the details, but I do think this stress is affecting my diet.) I have been eating too much non-vegetable stuff, too. Gotta put the focus back on "BEANS & GREENS"!!!!!

6am... cup of coffee with Silk creamer, smoothie with banana, blueberries, scoop of Vega Whole Food Optimizer
8:30am... a LARABAR and five little Swedish Fish candy
10:15am... three Talia's Unmeatballs with homemade tomato sauce (I could live off of these things)
12:15pm... two packets of cinnamon spice instant oatmeal
2:15pm... square of dark chocolate
3pm... a Bobo's Oat Bar and a hummus wrap
5:30pm... two Talia's Unmeatballs with homemade tomato sauce and a beer

30 mins of karate practice

9pm... three Talia's Unmeatballs with homemade tomato sauce (recipe from ETL -- SO delicious!)
